Donovan Hampton is a third-year African American and African Studies, Sociology double major from Cleveland, Ohio. Last year, he served as a subcommittee member of Theme Thursday and was inspired by process of planning and executing such a spectacular event. He also serves as the co-president of Never Let Your Pen Dry, a creative writing, poetry and spoken word student organization on campus. Along with that, he serves as an ambassador for the Bell National Resource Center and mentor for the Circleville Youth Correctional Facility with the Office of Social Change in their Buckeye REACH program.


As an avid writer and poet, Donovan loves to read, write, and listen to music to cultivate his creative self. Aside from that, traveling and cooking are Donovan’s domain as he tries to travel internationally at least once a year and throws down in the kitchen. He plans to become an educator, as well as writer and producer to push the image of Blackness in both education and media representation.
