Jakiniauset Ingram is a third year majoring in Political Science, Spanish, and African American Studies from Saint Louis, Missouri. She currently serves as the Vice President of the National Pan-Hellenic Council, Secretary of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, a Buckeye Leadership Fellow, and Miss Black and Gold Ohio. Jakini is very passionate about dismantling the educational and legal disparities that plague her St. Louis Community, as well as seeking to change the policies that foster mass incarceration in black communities. Following her undergraduate studies, Jakini would like to pursue a Master’s and Ph.D. in American Politics with an emphasis on Race and Ethics. She hopes to go into public policy and advocacy on behalf of black men and women who have been dealt with unjustly in legal spaces, and perhaps run for office. By integrating her Ohio State experiences to her professional life, she hopes to bring about social change by fostering critical dialogue.
