Throughout his undergraduate years, he has been a Site Leader for the Department of Social Change where he has been facilitating after school programs at Hamilton STEM Academy (Grow. Explore. Mentor. @ Hamilton - assists in exposing students to educational opportunities the area would not provide if the program was not present) and Trevitt Elementary School (Principal Pride Program - a Mentor Immersion Program that focuses on leadership, identity, cultural competency, citizenship, and service in an effort to improve attendance, grades, behavior, and critical thinking skills).

Outside of being a brother of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated, Kappa Chapter, and being heavily involved in the Young Scholar Program community as an Ambassador and an Academic Success Partner (mentor first-year students and assist in their transition from high school to college, integration to campus, and monitoring their academic success), Joe is a co-founder of the student organization, Men with Purpose. From his freshman year to this present day, he has dedicated a great deal of time to the development and growth of Men with purpose, which was founded to aid the retention rates of underrepresented males at the Ohio State University.
