Purpose

2017-2018 marks 40 years for The Annual African American Heritage Festival! The festival is a standing part of the university and a traditional aspect that campus and community members anticipate each year.

This coming festival will center around the word "Urithi," which is the Swahili word for Legacy! The theme “Live a Life, Leave a Legacy” will be incorporated throughout the entire academic year as we gear up for the festival. The festival will feature talent and poetry showcases, intriguing cultural awareness programs, our annual Mahogany Moments, and this year's culminating event, Gospel Fest! We invite all of The Ohio State University community and Columbus community members to join us for our annual celebration! Please continue to look back at our schedule page for future updates to events as near the event.
