REVIVAL: The 44th African American Heritage Festival

Revival: UAMSHO

We are the 44th African American Heritage Festival Committee! Throughout the years, the African American Heritage Festival has become a staple here at The Ohio State University and the larger Columbus community.

This coming festival will center around the word "Uamsho", which is the Swahili word for Revival! The theme Revival will be incorporated throughout the entire academic year as we gear up for the festival. The weeklong festival will feature talent and poetry showcases, intriguing cultural awareness programs, and our annual Gospel Fest! This years Festival will return to in-person events and will be filled with passion, excitement and Black culture.

We invite all of The Ohio State University community and Columbus community members to join us for our annual celebration! Please continue to look back at our schedule page for future updates to events.

Join us for the 44th Annual African American Heritage Festival, February 25, 2022 – March 5, 2022.

This week-long festival is presented by the Student Life Multicultural Center. For information regarding accessibility, to request an interpreter or other accommodations, please contact Jaden Royal.
