Uplift

Uplift: Aspire to Inspire

We are the 41st African American Heritage Festival Committee! In the last 40 years, the African American Heritage Festival has become a staple here at The Ohio State University and the larger Columbus community.

This coming festival will center around the word "Kuinua," which is the Swahili word for Uplift! The theme “Aspire to Inspire” will be incorporated throughout the entire academic year as we gear up for the festival. The weeklong festival will feature talent and poetry showcases, intriguing cultural awareness programs, public health talks, our annual Gospel Fest and the culminating Mahogany Moments dinner and dance!

We invite all of The Ohio State University community and Columbus community members to join us for our annual celebration! Please continue to look back at our schedule page for future updates to events.

At this time, AAHF is embarking on our Annual Fund Campaign. We invite you to make a gift that will help us create new and meaningful opportunities to serve our community. To donate please visit, https://go.osu.edu/41staahf

Join us for the 41st Annual African American Heritage Festival, March 23rd-March 30th, 2019.

This nine-day festival is presented by the Student Life Multicultural Center. For information regarding accessibility, to request an interpreter or other accommodations, contact Chelsea Appiah.
