Akilah Jones

Akilah Jones (She/ Her/ Hers) is a 4th year studying Architecture with a minor in African American and African Studies from Columbus, OH. She served as the president of the National Organization of Minority Architecture Students for three years. She is a part of the 117th class of Mortar Board Senior Honorary. She is also on the Student Experience committee of The Undergraduate Student Government Black Caucus. She has been mentoring Highschool students since 2021 with Empower Mentoring. As a Bluefish Swim Instructor, she teaches kids with disabilities how to swim. She is on the Council for Minority Political Affairs advocating for political engagement and education. In addition to this she is a member of the Tri Alpha First Generation Honor Society, a Social Change Ambassador, and a Buck I Serve Volunteer. On campus she works as a BIM Technician. Through her involvements on campus, she aims to uplift the marginalized student population through service, advocacy, and education. Shes been involved in Fest since her Freshman year. Fest has served as a space for her to not only seek belonging but uplift her community through programming and inclusion.
