The special initiatives and outreach committee along with the NAACP at Ohio State present an event paying homage to the historical Black Wall Street. This event is an acknowledgement to the creativity and wealth developed during this era. This expo-style event will highlight student organizations and exhibitions of black artists, entrepreneurs and groups across campus.

Fest Friday: Savor the Flavor - Black Panther Edition

Location: Curl Marketplace Viewpoint

Enjoy cuisine from different cultures around the world with a Black Panther Theme. Sample African culinary influence and taste throughout time how the use and sharing of different ingredients originating from Africa have progressed.

Fest on the Block: Pep rally

Pep Rally. Come rep your class and your team at our Festival Block Party on Saturday March 29th. Join us for music, food, fun and games as well as performances from a few campus organizations. We hope to see you there!

Gospel Fest: United Praise

Location: Fawcett Center - Conference Theater

The African American Heritage Festival has always been a celebration of the culture while promoting unification through shared experiences. Gospel Fest is a space where people from The Ohio State University and Columbus community can come and worship the lord through song, dance, and even mime ministry and/or other acts.

Gospel Fest is a highly anticipated event that highlights the genre originated by the Black community. Dating back to the 17th century, gospel music continues to shape our culture. Gospel Fest will promote a joyful, loving, and inclusive spiritual rejuvenation for all ages!

OSU Reads

Date: 4/4/2025

Location: Not open to the public

OSU Reads is an entire day dedicated to highlighting reading and literacy for Columbus City School children. We have the honor of collaborating with students who will participate in various activities during the day surrounding our 47th OSU Reads theme, Jamii.

A group of second and third-grade students will experience Ohio State’s campus and culture, while also integrating educational experiences throughout the day. They will have an opportunity to team-build with their classmates through group activities, learn what "Community" means, and gain an understanding of the importance of literacy and accessibility to books.

Variety Show: Night at the Carnival

Location: WOSU Building

Variety Show will feature a diverse array of performances and entertainment, creating a carnival-inspired atmosphere that highlights cultural performances from different talents. Join us for a night under the lights, filled with laughter and enjoyment!

Mahogany Moments: "One World, One Night" - All Around the World "Black and Gold" Met Gala

Date: 4/5/2025

Time: 6 - 10pm

Location: Fawcett Center

Mahogany Moments is a semi-formal/formal gala at the end of the Heritage Festival, with a theme of "One World, One Night"." In collaboration with the Black Student Association the committee has planned and event that showcases art, music, food, and celebration around the theme of the fest which is Community. The Mahogany Moments Chairs, subcommittee, and BSA executive board members will present the awards for undergraduates, graduate, and Black student organizations on campus. The ceremony is followed by dancing and fellowship, join us for a night to celebrate our community in the light of the festivals theme this year Jamii.
