Ruth Tongor

Hello! My name is Ruth Tongor and I am a fourth-year Liberian American majoring in Psychology with a minor in African and African American Studies. I am a co-overall for the 47th African American Heritage Festival and have been involved with Fest for 2 years. Aside from being a co-overall, I am also a student ambassador leader for the Center for African Studies at OSU. Outside of my campus involvements, I work as a youth development professional at the Boys and Girls Club of Central Ohio. I am also a research intern at Black Girl Rising, which is a non-profit organization that focuses on inspiring and bettering the lives of Black girls around Columbus. My various experiences have aided me in becoming a more empathetic and well-rounded leader and I hope to use my expertise to better my community. I am grateful for my position as co-overall and to contribute to a deeper sense of community and change at The Ohio State University.
